Spring Program

Another fun

As always....one of my two favorite nights at Crossings. Its a toss up on whether I like the Christmas program or Spring program better. Tonight was fun because the kids are both on the same night where last year Hudson just had a small program at school during the day. The pre-k performed with the Kindergarteners at 6 and were told to wear church clothes. The 1st-4th graders were at 7 and were supposed to wear a solid color shirt and jeans. Here are a couple pictures before both programs...

Hudson did so incredibly well. I LOVE that he has so much emotion when he sings and gives it his all. At some point he won't love the spotlight (or hopefully he always does) so I soak it all in while he does. He did every motion to the fullest and he sang so loud I could pick out his sweet voice! His teachers said they love to put him on the front row because they always know he will perform well. And they said every day during chapel and music he is always the one they can't count on for knowing the words and trying his hardest. I LOVE this!!!

Hadley's program was precious as always! I have the whole thing video-taped but just didn't get the best pics when she was standing. She did so well and also loves to sing! She gave it her all and had a huge smile on her face the whole time. I can't believe we only get 2 more years of this program with Hadley. I will miss it like crazy!
Sidenote: I laugh at the first pic because I think I have a picture of Hadley yawning in every single program! At least this year it didn't happen while she was singing...

After the program with some pretty great friends! We had to make a celebratory trip to Orange Leaf afterwards.

They finally did it! 2nd place in a D-bat tournament

This was a weekend I don't think I will ever forget. We started the tournament with a loss to the Hit Girlz. A little disappointing because it was a team we knew we could beat. But then a win against Nemesis kept us from getting the worst seed in the tournament. Here are a couple pictures after our win the first day. The actual tournament would then start Sunday!

Sunday morning started with a loss against the Angels. We were starting to see a trend of us losing our first game! So we were in the losers bracket and to do well in the tournament we would have to win out the rest of the day. The girls pulled it together and played amazing. They ended up beating Chaos, Nemesis, Enid Select. We had made it further than ever before! Next we had to play the Angels and a win would put us into the Championship. They did it!!! We beat the team that had beat us 5-12. It was a long, hot day but to see the smiles and joy in their faces made it all worth it. The girls were just so excited! And Hadley had a huge play in the game where she caught a fly ball getting us our 3rd out in that inning. I am so incredibly proud of her fielding. She has absolutely no fear when the balls come at her so hard!

It was late when we started the Championship game. Then we went into an extra inning and ended up losing to the Hit Girlz. They played their hearts out but were exhausted. They couldn't seem to get many great hits out of the infield which led to lots of outs. But they still had fun. And to get a 2nd place trophy was so amazing. These girls have just come SO far! Matt and I LOVE watching Hadley play. Win or lose it makes us so happy to see her effort and watch her having fun....and getting to spend our entire weekend together as a family and with great friends makes it even better!

I have to mention how amazing Hudson was through the entire tournament. He dealt with the heat, a scraped knee from playing, and being extremely tired just to watch his sister play. He cheered for her in all the games and was so proud of her trophy. He never complained once and he was such a great brother to her today.

We did get to take a little break from softball to celebrate Buck's birthday! Hadley was such a good sport about having to miss a little of it but I was so happy we all could make it for at least a little. Hudson got to stay the whole time which made Buck's day. We love you, Buck!

Orange tip

These belt test posts are getting a little bit repetitive but such a big accomplishment each time! This was a big one for him. He worked so hard and had so much more to memorize this time. It all paid off and he passed his test. He may have had his biggest smile yet for this one. Yellow belt with one orange tip...

Hudson's soccer season

What progress Hudson has made! We went from crying when he had to get out of the car (a year ago) to jumping out with a smile on his face and ready to hustle.  Hudson's speed helps him out a lot...that and his competiveness to not be beat to the ball! He always gives it his best until he completely exhausts himself and seems to love it MOST of the time. We definitely had our fair share of complaining but that typically came with games that he didn't score. In fact, he usually gets upset if he isn't the FIRST one to score! But he does a great job cheering on his team mates and has a lot of fun with them. We had several cold games where we all bundled up and a few nice games. It sure makes me like fall soccer MUCH better! Here are some pictures of his spring soccer season...

Spring School pics

These are some of my favorite yet! They both picked out their outfits and backgrounds on their own so it is truly their style, making it that much more fun. Hadley still loves her bows and Hudson loves to dress up and wear a bow tie. So sweet...
