Western Day

Hadley had Western day at school and she was so excited to wear her cowgirl boots, hat, and especially daddy's vest from when he was a kid. She looked so adorable before leaving for school that I had to take a million pictures! Just imagining what her daddy looked like wearing this vest has pretty much confirmed I will have a hard time throwing away anything that I possibly think she would have giving her kids someday.

Love this little cowgirl!

She, of course, had to throw in one of her own poses!

Waving to daddy as he leaves for work.

Hadley's class:

Hadley said Western Day was one of her favorite days at school. She even has a classmate that owns a couple horses and her mom brought them up the next day for the kids to ride!

Buck is One!

I can't believe Buck is already 1! He is such a sweet, happy boy and we had a great time celebrating him at his birthday party. Lisa and Ryan planned a "ball" party for him and they had a bounce house as well as balls EVERYWHERE for the kids to play with. The kids LOVED playing in the bounce house and Matt and I wore ourselves out in there as well. Ryan grilled some amazing buffalo burgers and we all filled up on chips and dips, and cake. And the grand finale included Buck destroying his cake! I have never seen a one year old devour almost the entire cake (and he would have had they not taken it away). Happy Birthday Buck!

The cute party favors for the kids:

It started out with a small taste...

...but quickly turned in to handfuls.

No time to smile, I've got too much cake in my mouth!

CCS Spring Program

Hadley had her spring music program that they have been practicing for all year. She did such a great job and loved performing once again. I love hearing all the songs they have learned every time we are in the car. There really is nothing sweeter than hearing a small child sing about Jesus!

Mrs Jill (Hadley's teacher) called to tell Matt and I that Hadley had been having trouble with one of the songs they had learned. She told us that every single time she sang the song she would start crying because it made her think of her Nana. She had asked us what we wanted to do if she started crying during the program. So we had a talk with Hadley and explained that Nana had a front row seat and would be so proud of her if she smiled and sang her best. We told her that it is so awesome to have something, such as a song, to bring back memories of our loved ones and how amazing it is that we will have the priveledge of seeing Nana again someday. The day before the program Hadley told me that she sang the song for the first time without crying. She said that she smiled really big so that Nana could see her smiling. Even better....she did absolutely amazing tonight and smiled big the entire time. She looked out at us and I think she knew that she had so much support and love and everything would be just fine. We just love her sensitive heart so much!

Matt and Hadley's first daddy/daughter dance

Hadley had her first Daddy/Daughter dance at Rose Creek and it brought tears to my eyes! We told her about the dance about a month ago when I bought her dress for her and she has asked several times since how much longer it was because she just couldn't wait! That morning was pure torture for her. She had to go to soccer, take a bath, curl her hair, and then just wait patiently for 6:00. Finally, it was time to go and I went a little picture crazy before she walked out the door with her daddy. Thankfully, we gladly posed for all of them as well as coming up with a few poses herself!

She makes my heart skip a beat!

One of her poses. I showed this to her the next day and she said, "well...I really don't think that was the best idea." haha

These two are such incredible blessings in my life! They both adore each other SO much and Hadley is absolutely CRAZY about her daddy.

I had to take this picture as a height reference over the next few years.

Ready to go!

Hadley made this stepping stone for us this year and she wanted to take a picture putting her hand in the stone.

Another Hadley pose...

Lexi and Tim came over for a few pictures before they all left for the dance. Hadley and Lexi had so much fun dancing all night with each other and all the other girls.

Sweet cousins!

Leaving for the dance...and making sure that the girls know that boys should ALWAYS open the door for them.

Aunt E followed the Dads and the girls up to the clubhouse so she could take pictures of them getting their corsage's.

Daddy and Hadley outside the clubhouse. They are ready to go in and dance the night away!

Matt said Rose Creek put on a great night. They had food and a DJ and all the kids danced ALL night long. He said Hadley spent most of the night watching the older girls dance and then trying to copy their moves.
