4th Grade Graduation

I just don't even know how it is possible that Hadley is done with her lower school years. There are times it feels like she just started Kindergarten!!! This has been a really hard year for me. I think "lasts" are harder than "firsts" for me. The last Christmas party, the last music program, the last birthday blessing have made me long for another year in lower school. But I am so thrilled to watch Hadley grow up and I think she is the absolute most precious, sweet girl there is. So it is no surprise that this day was hard as well. I got to watch my little girl walk across the stage and be presented with her 4th grade graduation diploma!  They played a slide show of pictures and it was fun to watch all her friends grow throughout the years. Here are some pictures from our morning. Hudson got ahold of my camera for the first couple pictures!

From the first day of 1st grade to the last of 4th grade!

After the graduation the Rouse's had a swim party for all the 4th grade girls at their house. They all got the afternoon off school and had such a great time together!

On to bigger and better things....I'm excited for the adventures that Middle School will bring!

Shawnee Mother's Day Tournament

I love when we have tournaments in Shawnee and we can spend some time at the lake in between games! Mama and Papa are always so sweet to cook food for the team and invite everyone over.  The girls sure didn't play their best after spending some time in the sun between games but everyone had fun!
Here are some pictures from the weekend including one with the water bottles the girls gave all the moms. Such a great weekend.

Hudson gets an award.

Hudson was chosen for the Joyful award at school this month. But leading up to this day has been quite the test for him. Every single month as more and more people got awards Hudson was just sure he was never going to get one. He was so disappointed because he tries so hard in school, tries to make friends, and just didn't understand. In the meantime, his teacher had already told me a few months back that she already knew the award she wanted him to have but it would be a little longer. So I knew it was coming. Finally, on Wednesday he came home with the biggest smile and couldn't wait to tell me he was getting an award at Knight time. Miss Mehlhaff even sent me a video of the principal coming in to present the award to him because she knew he would be so excited. She said he is always happy in class, comes in with a big smile every day, and loves school so it was perfect for him. So proud of him!

The pool is back open!

We've had some warm days and we thought it would be fun to heat the pool and have some people over to swim! Here are some fun pictures of our warmer days! We also had some pots done for us and we love them. Here is to hoping they can withstand our brutal sun.

Oklahoma Memorial Field Trip

Field trip with my girl. I have been looking forward to this one because I heard its so great and I haven't been to the Memorial since its been remodeled and more stuff added. It really was a wonderful field trip and we all learned so much about day...including a room where an actual recording of the bombing was played. It was very emotional. It is still so crazy to me that our kids will hear all about that day but it is something I will remember my whole life. The volunteers did do such a wonderful job trying to convey those feelings to the kids though.

First we learned all about structures and how buildings are now built with better reinforcements to withstand events like earthquakes, tornados, and even bombs. All the students got to build virtual buildings.

It was a beautiful day outside to walk around the grounds. We saw the chairs representing each person that died in the bombing and thats when I think it hit Hadley the most. It really shook her up to see all the childrens chairs.

I loved this field trip. Hadley was right by my side the whole time and really wanted to learn about everything. I am so glad I was able to go on this trip with her!
