Last basketball games and a few others

We have finished up Hadley's basketball season and she had a blast! It was fun to see how much she improved over the season and how much she enjoyed it. On her YMCA team she was the very smallest, yet the oldest. She still held her own well and made 4+ buckets each game.  On her Crossings league she played against boys and it didn't seem to intimidate her one bit! It was also a much rougher league where the kids would steal, push, and very little was called. So each league was different and so fun. Hadley is constantly wanting to be on the go and can't sit at home for 5 minutes so the business of two teams was ok for this year. Unfortunately, next year (when homework begins)we may just have to play on just one team!

Some pictures from her first Crossings basketball game:

YMCA team. I love that they had Thunder colors!

Hadley and Holland both scored 4 baskets this game:

And I finally catch a goal on camera!

Hudson had to spend a lot of time in the gym this winter. He was typically a very good sport and loved playing with Oscar but this particular moment he was throwing a bit of a fit to run out on the court with the girls...

A little b-ball practice at the Crossings gym:

Last basketball game and team pictures. I would like to say they were saying a little prayer in their huddle before the game but instead Hadley told me they were comparing shoes.

Look at that defensive stance...

Getting the much anticipated medal. Crossings also gave out a basketball which was a fun end-of-the-season gift.

And the last YMCA game. Hudson watched a movie on the iPad while dodging a few basketballs that came flying his way.

Two medals in one day! Now we just have to come up with a spot to keep all these things at home. We had such great coaches on both teams and can't wait to play another season next winter.

Valentine's party

Hadley is super addicted to her Rainbow Loom right now! She wants to make bracelets from the time she wakes up until she goes to bed. So when she came up with her own Valentines idea for her classmates, I had to help her get it done. She decided she would make a custom bracelet for each kid with the colors she thought they would like the most. She worked so hard on them (with a little help from me) and could hardly wait to give them to her friends. I think she even let it slip a few times that they would all be getting a bracelet. Here is the finished product:

Her teacher requested that each kid practice their handwriting by writing the kids first and last names as well as their own. I am so impressed with Hadley's handwriting and how much of a perfectionist she is!

Hadley's teacher called to tell me that when she was putting the valentines in each kids bag she was able to guess almost every single person's bracelet before even looking at the name. I do think Hadley really thought out what each kid would like based on their favorite colors!

Hadley's Valentine's party was on a Thursday so I was really happy to be off work and get to go to the party with her. Goodness, these kids acted like they had already had 30 packets of sugar! They were so hyped up and giddy to open their Valentine's. My favorite part was hearing all the kids telling Hadley they couldn't wait to see what their bracelet looks like. And she was more excited to see how much they liked them than finding out what she got in her bag.

Haha! Love this excited face.

Hadley's friend, Clara.

Unfortunately, while we were celebrating Valentine's day at Hadley's school, our little Hudson was getting sick at his. When I picked him up from school he slowly walked out the door, looked right up at me, and said, "I sick." He was hot, not really hot, but enough that I knew we were in for something. We loaded up in the car to head home and his sweet face had those eyes that could tell anyone he didn't feel well.

We made it home, found we had a temp of 102, and decided to rest on the couch and see how much better he could start feeling. Unfortunately, by the time Matt got home Hudson was not any better and we knew we needed to make a trip to the after hours clinic. With practically all of okc coming down with the flu I was just concerned thats what we were running into. Thankfully, my parents offered to pick Hadley up from school and let her spend the night at their house to keep her away from the germs. We got to the after hours clinic and they called us back after about 30 minutes. As soon as they started taking his vitals Hudson started puking EVERYWHERE. All over Matt, himself, my hands, and the floor. So we stripped him down to his diaper, wrapped him in his blanket, and waited on the doctor. Long story short, he was diagnosed with croup...much better than the alternative. We were given steroids and hope to be on the mend soon!

Still smiling and being goofy even when he feels terrible.

I told him he could close his eyes if he wanted to since the light was bright. He immediately passed out (which literally NEVER happens.) As much as I dont want to see him feeling bad it was so sweet watching him sleep.

Blessings bags

We are SO very thankful for our amazing nanny, Kristin. She has been wonderful to our kids and loves them as her own. She also makes sure they use their manners at all time and they listen so well to her. This particular day was one that made me love her even more! When I got home from work we had a table of "blessings bags" that Kristin and Hadley had made. They made them to hand out to homeless men, women, and families that we encounter each day. They had a scripture on the front as well as a note of encouragement signed by Hadley. Inside was a Bible, toothpaste, toothbrush, package of crackers, deoderant, chapstick, water, and socks. Kristin has such a servant's heart and I am so happy to have her in my children's lives.

Discovering the Dinosaurs

Hadley got to go with Lolly, Pops, Erin, and Tim to Ft Worth to celebrate Abby and Katie's 8th birthday so we had a weekend alone with Hudson. We decided to do something special for him and got tickets to Discovering the Dinosaurs. We knew he would be thrilled and couldn't wait for him to see all the dinosaurs. AND at $18/ticket we assumed it would be quite an experience. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be quite what we expected. I guess all of Okc decided to go to the same event at the same time. They had no cap on how many people came in and it was so crazy crowded that we could hardly see anything. We met Ryan, Lisa, Buck, and Peyton and although we all had fun together we probably wont do it again. The boys loved seeing the exhibits but the lines to ride the rides and jump on the bounce houses were so long that there was no way we could have waited that long. Anyway, we got some cute pics, the boys still had a great time, and it gave us something to do for the weekend.

So excited to go inside:

Hudson knew the names of so many of the dinosaurs. Although he didn't want to touch any, he did love getting close and yelling their names.

Taking a little break to watch a dinosaur movie.

Just a little look at ONE line to get on a bouncy house. Seriously...it apparently was a 3 hour wait!

Of course, the boys suckered us into some toys!
