Teddy bear

My mom brought over this huge bear that was mine as a kid. Hudson immediately fell in love with the bear and decided that night that he just HAD to sleep with it. It did take up about half of his crib. He also wanted his bear to sit right beside him for story time . Here is how our night went:

Hudson was not happy that I took a picture with the flash and quickly covered the bears eyes. He then said, "no, no, bright!"

So I turned off the flash and managed just a few more pictures. He was so proud to take a picture with bear:

After reading a few books in the chair, Hudson put a pillow on the ground, moved his bear down to the ground, and covered up. We then had to read a couple more books...

After finishing our books Hudson couldn't wait to get in bed. He put his arms around bear in bed and said "night" over and over as I left the room. So cute!

First indoor soccer practice

Hadley has been asking to play soccer ever since her fall season ended so I looked into an indoor league for her since outdoor won't be starting up for awhile. Soccer city has a program called the Lil' Kickers for 18 months to 9 years and Hadley immediately jumped on the idea. Hadley is on the Micro 4/5 year old team and they spend the first half of the hour doing drills and the second half of the hour playing a game of 4 on 4. She had so much fun and I thought she looked absolutely adorable in her soccer uniform!

Hudson is playing on the thumpers team with 2 and 3 year olds. Unfortunately, he had come down with a virus on Thursday and we decided to keep him out this first week until we knew he was better. He did insist on wearing his uniform though and looked so adorable as well!

Justin Bieber concert

Hadley woke up so excited this morning for the Justin Bieber concert. I have to admit that I was a little excited too but also dreading a long day of work and then heading straight to Tulsa. Unfortunately, we had wanted to surprise the girls (Hadley and Peyton) with the tickets at Christmas and when we bought the tickets Justin Beiber had only planned on coming to Tulsa. Soon after we bought the tickets he announced he would be coming to OKC this summer. I'm not sure the girls could have waited that long anyway and it made for a fun road trip all together.

While Matt and I were working my mom picked up Hadley at school a little bit early to come home and get ready so we could leave at 3:00 and get to Tulsa for dinner before the concert. Hadley was apparently already exhausted from her day at school and fell right to sleep in the car.

One picture of the girls before leaving the house. They were bouncing off the walls.

We made it to Tulsa and stopped to eat at Joe Mama's, a pizza place. It was great pizza but by the time we got seated we were all starving! Apparently every little girl going to the concert was also wanting pizza beforehand. It was still work the wait and really fun to watch all these little girls running around and so excited to go to the concert. It also made Matt and I feel a little better when we realized we didn't have the youngest kid there.

Killing time while we were waiting to be seated and I took a few pictures. It was so cold outside and didn't even seem to phase the girls.

After dinner we jumped in the car and headed straight to the concert. Matt and Ryan were such troopers and had to deal with lots of girly screams! This picture is of Hadley and Daddy right before heading into the arena.

Hadley and Peyton had no idea what they were about to experience. We were there fairly early and the seats weren't very full but it took no time for everyone to start filing in.

There were some teenage girls sitting right behind us and they kept giggling and talking about Justin Bieber. Hadley could NOT quit turning around and listening to their conversations.

Carly Ray Jensen and Cody Simpson opened for Justin and they were great as well. "Call Me Maybe" is one of Hadley's favorite songs so she loved dancing to it with Peyton!

Hadley had no idea how loud it was going to be and her face was priceless when the concert first started. It maybe would have been smart for me to bring some ear plugs or headphones with us!

My one complaint about the concert...Apparently, Justin Bieber likes to wait a LONG time between his opening acts and his performance. In fact, it was an hour and 15 minutes before he finally came out. If you can imagine how many little girls were there and how little patience they had, it was a little unnerving to wait for him to come out. Hadley ended up falling asleep in my lap and didn't even wake up when he finally got started. She slept for about the first 10 minutes of his performing and was in for a shock when she woke up. I took a picture of this huge screen that they put up to give you an idea of how much longer we had to wait. Unfortunately, they didn't even start it until the very end.

I will be the first to admit that Justin Bieber is an incredible performer. We had such a great time and I would definitely go see another concert with Hadley sometime. It was worth the wait and even worth getting home at 1:30 in the morning!

Legos

Six months ago I would have told you that I cannot believe they have an entire store devoted to Legos in the mall. And I really didn't see the fascination with Legos anyway. You spend so much time building something and then I didn't understand what you did with it.

And then...

Hadley got her first Lego set from her cousin, Sloan, for Christmas. Today while Hudson was sleeping we decided to get it out and put it together. I am not sure who had more fun. I loved watching her flip through the book and put her cafe together and it took everything I had not to put it together myself. We laughed and had some great conversations while we built the whole thing in one day. When Hudson woke up (we knew he would destroy it) we decided to take a break and Hadley and daddy finished it up when he got home. I even found myself getting online and looking up Lego Friends to see which one we could buy next.

Not quite the finished product yet but we took one last picture before taking a little break. She was so proud of herself!
