So proud of another great game by our little soccer player. Hadley has absolutely no problem with being one of the smallest on the team. She throws her elbows out, makes sure no one gets in her way, and gets in to fight for the ball.

After the game we had the awards ceremony and then the league set up bounce houses for the kids along with lemonade, donuts, and pigs in a blanket. Matt had to leave for the OSU game and Hadley and Hudson and I stayed all morning and into the afternoon playing on the bounce houses. In fact, we were the LAST ones to leave and I had some tired kiddos that were ready for a nap.

After playing for a little while we decided to take a break and go watch Peyton play her game for a little bit. Hadley was excited to play with her friend Emme from school. Emme's sisters (Elle and Evan) are on Peyton's team.

The parent tunnel and snacks after the game were probably the kids favorite part of playing. It is so cute to watch how excited kids get when the parents are all cheering for them.

We are getting a visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Hadley lost her first tooth!

Right around the time Hadley turned 5 we noticed her tooth was a little loose. Then about a month ago her permanent tooth started growing in behind her baby tooth. Working in a pediatric office we literally see at least one parent a day panicked about their child having an extra row of teeth. Thankfully, I have given the speech a million times that it is normal (50%) of the time, and the tongue will push the tooth right back in place as soon as the baby tooth falls out so there was no need to panic when it happened to Hadley. Anyway, it still made me anxious to get the tooth out!

So Monday I could have sworn the tooth was loose enough to come out and I talked Hadley into letting me pull it. I was SO wrong! I grabbed ahold of it, did one quick jerk, and came out empty handed leaving a little trickle of blood coming down Hadley's lip. She screamed, cried, and told me not to touch it ever again. I felt horrible but watching it flap every time she breathed (now) made me start talking her into it once again. So Friday we tried again. I told her I was scared it would fall out during her soccer game and we would lose it so she decided to give me another chance. This time I barely even touched it and it fell out in my hand. She didn't even know it had come out and had the biggest, proudest smile as soon as I showed it to her. She couldn't quit smiling all night and was so proud of herself.

Hadley was very excited to put her tooth in her tooth pillow and place it beside her bed. And the next morning she was even more excited when she saw the tooth fairy had left her a note, some money, a toothbrush, and mouthwash...all for her first tiny tooth.

It was so fun to experience the tooth fairy with Hadley but I am a little emotional that she is growing up so fast and already losing her teeth. Just another one of the many reminders that we need to make the most of all this time we have with our kids at each particular age.

Sister's shadow

I just love how much Hadley and Hudson adore each other. I feel like I am so lucky that they very rarely fight (thanks to Hadley being so easy going). I feel like in the past few months Hudson has become completely enamored with his big sister and follows her everywhere. He is literally steps behind her at all times and we sometimes have to remind her that everything she does he is going to try and do as well. Hadley does not mind playing the "mommy" role one bit!

One of our favorite things to do on nice days is take bike rides while Hudson follows around on his four-wheeler. Hadley takes a specific path to a cul-de-sac near our house and Hudson follows her up and down sidewalks and winding through the street. Then she always stops at this particular house, sits down on a pole in the drainage ditch, and her and Hudson have conversations while I pretend to not be watching. She tells him about life as a 5 year old and what all he has to look forward to. It completely melts my heart to see them becoming such good friends.

Hadley got her school picture today and I LOVE it. I can't believe we are taking real school pictures now and she will be getting her first yearbook this year!

Katie came in town and we were all so happy to meet baby Lawson. It is pretty incredible how close all of my high school friends have remained and we all have had kids about the same time. Katie and her husband, David have moved away for a bit while he is in oral surgery school but we all gladly arranged a time to get all the kids together when she came back for a visit. Here are some of the kids that we miraculously were able get a picture of. From left to right: Jackson, Evan, Brooklyn, Brynlee, Hadley, Hudson, Lawson, Kircher, and Nash. 

Lawson got a little fussy towards the end of the night and Hudson DID NOT like it. He kept rocking the carseat, putting his finger to his lips, and telling the baby to be quiet. Such a sweet helper!

It was so fun to have all the kids play together and I look forward to doing it again, hopefully sooner than later.
