Soccer star

This is Hadley's second year to play soccer and we were anxious to see if she would like it better this year.  Last spring we asked her if she wanted to play again and were met with a quick "No, I want to dance instead!" So we took the spring off and towards the end of summer she decided she wanted to give it one more try. So Hadley and Holland were signed up on the same team again and we had no idea what to expect (other than just hoping she would get on the field). 

Hadley before her first game. We hadn't gotten our jersey yet because we were supposed to pick it up at the field. I remembered my camera for the first game but forgot that I had taken the battery out so unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures. Hadley did love playing though and even liked it so much that she wanted to pull out the soccer ball at home and practice kicking it with daddy.

It was absolutely freezing this game and drizzly on top of that so Hadley was not thrilled about playing. Matt and I told her the only way she would warm up would be to run very fast.

So she did. And all of a sudden it was like everything clicked! She went in after the ball, stole it away, and dribbled it all the way down the field for a goal. Mommy and daddy and the rest of her fan club cheered and you could see the excitement in her face. She could not stop smiling!

And then she did it again!

More high-fives and ending the game with 4 goals!!! We are so proud of her. She tried her best and I absolutely loved seeing her so happy.

Hadley was so excited that even Lexi, Jase, Tim, and Lexi and Jase's grandma and grandpa came to watch her play. She had quite the fan club this game including Mama, Papa, Peyton, and Ryan as well. 

Running out of time

The warm weather is coming to an end and, therefore, so are our evenings spent on the golf course. We spent this evening riding around with Daddy while he played a few holes and rather than trying to play along as well, the kids decided today it would be more fun to run around and roll down hills.

Hadley spotted a big hill, grabbed Hudson's hand, and off they went.

Rolling down the hill. It is so fun watching Hudson mimick Hadley's every move as he tries so hard to keep up. Hadley is so sweet to always include him and help him out on the things he can't do by himself.

Orr Family Farm

Crossings has an annual Family Night at the Orr Family Farm each year. Last year my brother and dad took Hadley along with Peyton and told us how much fun it was. Now that Hadley is at Crossings as well we all went this year.  It is a pretty fun place with so much to do. They have a big carousel, ponies, a petting zoo, mazes, mining stations, a large park, ziplines, slides, trains, trampolines, sand pits, and probably a lot more that I am forgetting. They have photo ops set up everywhere and if we had coordinated the kids a little more it would have been fun to get some family pictures. 

Hadley was excited to get on the carousel but humored mommy by smiling for a quick picture in line:

Head thrown back in laughter, I think Hudson and Hadley both LOVED the carousel. Poor daddy had to stay on there for about 6 full rides!

Precious little Buck...

Hudson panicked a bit when we first went into the petting zoo and clung to my shoulders but he soon got up the nerve to feed the goats and loved it! He would stick his fingers all the way in the goat's mouth and then laugh so hard when they took the food from him.

This was the mining station. You can mine for fossils, rocks, gems, etc. and Ryan bought a bag of fossils to mine with Hudson. Hudson was so cute listening to everything Ryan told him and was excited to find some "dinosaur bones."

The only way of getting a picture of Hadley was by catching her running and playing with her cousin and friends. She had very little time for us and was having the time of her life! They had Jumping pillows which were similar to a trampoline but seemed much safer. I immediately went home and looked them up on the computer because they were so fun but found they are a little expensive for home use! The kids had SO much fun on them though. They chased each other, double bounced each other, and laughed until they couldn't stand up!

I didn't even get a picture of one of my favorite parts of the night. Hudson has had an incredible talent of driving a battery powered car since a really young age (about 18 months). He picked it up really fast and can even drive Hadley's big Escalade all around the neighborhood without wrecking it. There were a bunch of people standing around this race car track as all the kids were riding these cars. My dad pushed Hudson really fast and let go of him to steer it on his own. Everyone screamed and jumped out of the way as he came straight towards them. He turned the wheel at the last second and stayed right on the track. You could hear him laughing as he continued to go around until the car slowed to a stop since his feet couldn't touch the pedals to keep it going. He did this over and over and I can't count the number of people that came up to me and told me they couldn't believe he could drive the car so well.

I can't wait to go back here again! The kids had so much fun and we could have easily spent a couple more hours playing if it hadn't gotten dark.
