Great Wolf Lodge

Labor Day Weekend.

Hudson made his 1st trip to Great Wolf Lodge, Matt and I made our second, and Hadley went for the third time. And once again, we all had a blast! My parents took Ryan, Lisa, Peyton, and the four of us. We stayed in two rooms and had late nights and early mornings. Hudson decided he is too spoiled to sleep in a pack-n-play and was up many times during the night. Thankfully, the water during the day kept him entertained and happy! Hadley, whose is always an early bird, woke up ready to swim at 7:00. So needless to say, the vacation definitely didn't consist of us catching up on sleep.

Here are Hadley and Peyton waiting to get checked in. So excited to be here.

The outdoor pool.

This kid will NOT keep a hat on his head (unless it's daddy's).

It is so humid inside that my camera lens would immediately fog up. Not to mention the fact that there were 2000 wild banshees running around and splashing water so I didn't want to get it to close to the water.

Hadley chasing Peyton up the stairs.

Silly.
Hudson had no fear and LOVED the slides.

Hadley wanted to race Hudson down the big slides. However, the parents couldn't go down so Matt caught Hudson at the end.

READY...

SET...
GO!

Still smiling! Oh, and Hadley enjoyed watching him so much that she was still at the top waiting to go down.
Water fight with Daddy.

Storytime before bed. Hadley got her first hat and wanted to wear it the rest of the trip.
Great Wolf has an awesome arcade and the kids loved playing all the games. We spent a few hours in there throughout the trip. At the end we added up all the money spent....$150 for 3200 tickets and toys that were probably worth about $20. Worth every penny though!

Hadley loved skeeball.

A friendly match of basketball. Not sure who won but they are both competitive enough that I didn't even ask...
There is a spa called scoops and the girls got a manicure right before leaving on the last day. You got to choose between chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Hadley chose a strawberry manicure and Peyton chose chocolate.

Sticking her hands in the fizz bath. She loved this part.

Peyton getting her salt scrub.

Finished product!

We had such a great time, minus the crying on the way home from Hudson. Thank you Mama and Papa for a special trip and many more memories!

Hadley loves hip-hop!

Hadley loves to dance! She likes to make up dances and act "crazy." When ballet ended this summer we talked about whether she wanted to do ballet again or try something different. I was hoping she would say "something different" because I would love for her to try lots of things out and find out what she likes best. Well, she decided on HIP-HOP! It is actually a tap/hip-hop combo class and the first one was last Wednesday. We are taking it at Studio J, a christian studio that I am already so happy with. It is really hard to get a spot unless you have been on a waiting list and this is the first year we got in.

She not only liked it, she LOVED it...and has asked to go back every day since!

Here are some pictures before we left for her class. They have to wear a black leotard and tutu, running shoes for the hip-hop class, and black tap shoes for the tap portion of the class.

When I asked her to show me some of her dance moves she decided to be crazy instead. All giggles!

Could NOT get her to take a serious picture :)

So I had to resort to catching her off-guard.

My FAVORITE!

Side note: Hadley ran straight into the chair while chasing Hudson around the room the other day. Looks like we may have quite a scab under her eye for a while. This is a few days later after some pretty good swelling had gone down. Tough girl barely shed a tear!

Hadley and Hudson meet their teachers

Hadley and Hudson had their "Cookie Lookie" party the other night where they got to go to their new classrooms and eat a cookie and meet their teachers. Hadley has gone to this school now for 2 years so she thinks she is a pro and was thrilled to show Hudson around. She loves this Jesus statue at the entrance of the church and she was excited to show it to Hudson. He looked straight up for a good two minutes in complete amazement!

Of course, Jesus needs a hug:
I failed to get a picture of the kids with their teacher! But here is a picture of Hadley with one of her best friends, Jack, that also lives in our neighborhood. He is the sweetest boy and loves to ride by our house on his bike so he can see Hadley.

Hudson will just be going to Mother's day out on Mondays and because of Labor day he would have started Sept. 12th. Well...we are waiting until October. He still really needs his two naps and I am just not ready for him to loose one of those. I also love my time with him while Hadley is at school since I got three years alone with her before he was born. He loves to play though, so he must start soon!

End of August

Here are some pictures from the end of August that tell a little bit about what we have been doing.

A little bit of cheerleading:

Hadley is so proud that she can balance on daddy's hands:

We pulled out Hadley's old tricycle and she loved getting to ride it again.

Hudson is getting some tips:

To cut down on a little shedding we brush Bauer EVERY night. I realized quickly how observant Hudson is because he has started mimicking our every move. He now grabs the brush and want to brush Bauer also.

Another night...going after Bauer with the brush again:

Buddies:
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture. Hudson sat down after chasing Bauer with the brush and Bauer walked up and sat right behind him. He actually has his legs on each side of Hudson.

Playing on the fort:
Our little poke!

BIRTHDAY BOY!!!

Is it possible he can already be one? Wasn't he just born a couple months ago?

This past year has been such an incredible adventure. We have two children with completely different personalities and it has been so much fun seeing Hudson develop into a sweet, rambunctious, loud, ACTIVE toddler. Anyone that has spent much time with him knows I am not exaggerating when I say he is the most incredible climber I have ever seen! The other day he reached up to our table and did a chin up all the way to the top. This, however, is not a good thing 99% of the time. It typically means lots of bruises, bumps, falls, and I am expecting a short-lived crib sleeper! Hudson loves to cuddle and lay his head on your shoulder for a short two seconds. He runs to us when we get home for a big hug and he cries when we leave. He is a very happy baby but definitely needs to be entertained. He wants to go, go, go. He is still a great sleeper but early riser which gives us lots of time to play before I leave for work.

He loves to be outside, playing with cars and trains, pushing anything, and chasing Hadley. He plays peek-a-boo and is starting to dance by bouncing up and down. He does not like to sit still and isn't too fond of the car. He loves green beans, any fruit (especially pears, apples, grapes, and blueberries), hotdogs, and yogurt. He does not like cheese or bread.

We haven't had his 1 year appointment and won't for another month since we decided to choose the same doctor as the rest of Edmond! But according to our scales he weighs about 18 pounds which still puts us at about the 5th percentile. We just put on our first pair of long pants in a while and the 6-12 month jeans fell off his waist but were high-waters above his ankles so this winter we may be making an interesting fashion statement.

A few more of my favorites.

We are having a golf themed birthday party (more on that later) and took Hudson out to the golf course to get a few pictures for his invitation.

Deciding on a club.
Getting tips from daddy.

Deciding he would rather eat the ball.

Going for the hole while Hadley holds the flag.

In the hole!!!
Ok, so it didn't quite go like that but it is fun to think that's what went through his head.
