Wonderful weather!

While Matt is at the Masters (more on that once he comes home), I have gotten to spend A LOT of time with my babies! Thankfully, we have had wonderful weather and have spent the past 3 days outside. Who knew it could be 90 in the beginning of April? We have played in the backyard, gone on walks, went to the park, and had lots of help from Mama too! Today my parents took Hadley and Peyton to the lake and Hudson went to Lolly and Pop's house so I had a few hours to run errands. It is amazing how much I can get done with no kids and a plan!

Here is an overload of pictures from the weekend so far:

In school, they have line-leaders each day. Hadley LOVES to be the line-leader at home too.

Hudson's new fedora. A little big but still so cute!

Spending a lot of time naked this weekend!

DIVA!

We have had a lot of fun! I am, however, very grateful for a husband that works 8-5 and doesn't have to travel! We are ready for daddy to come home...

Hadley's haircut and FEATHERS!

Hadley got a haircut and got 2 inches cut off! We are going to Scottsdale in a couple weeks and I have been dreading combing out swim hair every day so we made a deal that if she would cut a little off then I would let her get a feather extension. She has been asking for a pink and purple feather for weeks now and she was so excited. While Kristin was cutting her hair she was a statue and after it was curled and the feather was in she would not quit looking in the mirror! We tried to go play outside but she was scared the wind would blow her curls away (we have never curled her hair before). Then she asked me if she could just stay up until morning so that her hair would not get messed up. MISS PRISS!

Dad's VIP Day

Yesterday was Daddy VIP day at Hadley's preschool. She had been excited for two weeks, ever since they started preparing the kids for all the daddies to come. Tuesday night I picked out a cute outfit for Hadley to wear and she could hardly fall asleep because she couldn't wait! The next morning she came downstairs wearing a different outfit that she had picked out all by herself. A purple and black polka-dot skirt, a hot pink tank top, and silver shoes. She said she had changed her mind and said, "Daddy will think I am so beautiful if I wear this!" Of course, I couldn't make her change after that comment so off to school they went. I am so sad that I didn't take a picture of Hadley and her Daddy before I left for work!!!

Here is the invitation that Hadley gave her Daddy inviting him to come to school with her:

And here is a tie that she made him the week before. All the dad's wore it at school and she was so proud. It was supposed to be a surprise but she HAD to tell him about it the day they made them.

Hadley and her daddy's handprints. Wish her handprint could stay this size for a long while!

Hadley and her daddy had such a good time at school. He wanted to start the day with taking her to get donuts before school because it is not very often that she gets time alone with her daddy anymore. She loved showing him all her friends, singing in chapel for him, doing "centers" with him, and playing on the playground. She is so proud of her daddy!

Hadley and her Daddy have such a special bond and I have loved watching this relationship grow more every day!
I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father who loved
his daughter more than I love you

Exciting News!!!

My sister-in-law, Erin, is engaged!!!

We are so excited for her and thrilled to welcome Tim and his two kids, Lexi and Jase, into the family. It has been fun to watch this relationship develop. We are going to have a summer full of weddings and parties!

Spoiled by Uncle Ryan...

Hadley had such a great weekend! She got to spend so much time with her cousin, Peyton, and they had a blast. These two play so well together and with as much time as they spend together, they rarely argue. On Friday, Ryan called me and asked if he could take Hadley to see the Justin Bieber movie with him and Peyton. Of course, Hadley was ecstatic. Ryan said every time a song would come on in the movie both Hadley and Peyton would get up and start dancing. I was hoping to put off the "Bieber Fever" for a few years but I guess I did not succeed at that. Ryan also took them to dinner and after the movie they got to pick out some jewelry at the Disney Store. Hadley says, "Ryan is really neat!"

If that wasn't enough on Saturday Ryan wanted to take Hadley to the park at Lake Hefner. Hudson was asleep and when he woke up we met Ryan, Hadley, and Peyton at the park also. Hadley was red-faced from running and playing so hard with Peyton and Hudson loved watching all the kids play. It was such beautiful weather to be outside. Afterwards, Hadley went to Peyton's house to play and a couple hours later they came back to our house and played some more. You would think they would be tired of each other but I think these girls could live together and not get tired of each other. What a fun weekend for Hadley!

Here are some pictures of the kids playing in our backyard:

Peyton pushing both Hadley and Hudson. She said,
"This is wearing me out!"

Hudson got a new swing and after a little confusion at first, he decided he LOVED it!

Man's best friend

We are dog people...always have been, always will be.

Yes, they get on our nerves much more now. And I get really tired of dog hair, drool, barking, vet bills, etc.

But...
We love them, our kids love them, and best of all...

THEY LOVE US. More than anything in the world. And they will do anything they can to protect us.

Here are some pictures of Hudson and Hadley, both at 6 months old with our youngest dog, Bauer (now 5). He is the most tolerant dog I have ever seen with these kids. Hudson pulls on his ears and Hadley loves to spank him and yell "no!" Bentley loves the kids too but mainly because he typically ends up with some of their food. We don't seem to get any pictures of him with the kids because he realizes that when they come near, pain is likely to be involved.

HUDSON AND BAUER:

HADLEY AND BAUER:

Hudson is 7 Months old!

Another month has flown by....

This has been a major milestone month and it has been fun (if I block out the sleepless nights from him having a cold).

-He is sitting up so well and is much happier since this accomplishment. He loves to sit and play with his toys.
-Crawling everywhere! We went from a scoot to realizing he can move his hands too and he took off. He does still get pretty irritated when he can't get to a toy fast enough.
-Pulling up. How in the world did he figure this out so soon? Bring on the bumps and bruises because he is already an accident waiting to happen.
-He loves table foods. Forget babyfood! He eats it and we actually haven't found one he doesn't like but it takes him forever and he gets irritated. But put an apple in his hand and he is happy as can be. He also likes pudding, puffs, and mum-mums.
-And the best milestone of the month...KISSES! Big, open-mouthed, slobbery kisses ALL THE TIME! Pretty fun to come home to when you've been working all day.

16 lbs as of this morning.
Still 10% but he is getting some chub so he must have not grown in length much this month.
We didn't even try to measure because he WILL NOT lay still long enough.

I have said before but I still can't believe how different our two kids personalities can be. Hadley was a little more serious and Hudson smiles at everything. She was a little bit better sleeper and loved to go down for a nap where Hudson doesn't like to go down but once he is asleep he sleeps great. Hadley was content to relax in your lap where we pass many hours pacing the floor with Hudson because if we stop he screams! With Hadley being our first I don't think we realized how lucky we were that she was so laid-back. We never baby-proofed a thing. She has markers, scissors, and paint pens in reach in her playroom and we have never even worried about it. If you tell her not to do something she usually won't. Hudson is already into everything. He loves to make loud noises and bang things. He pushes everything off the counter and makes a mess with his food. He will keep us busy...and I love it, because isn't that what boys are all about?
